In Lightning Experience, creating a new certificate in Identity Provider page throws error

Certificate and Key Edit page fails to load in Lightning Experience when loaded from the Identity Provider Edit page due to X-FRAME-OPTIONS: SAMEORIGIN.
Actual Result: <my-domain>.my.salesforce.com refused to connect.
Expected Result: Certificate and Key Edit page should open successfully.
1) In a DE org, switch to Lightning Experience, and go to Setup | Identity Provider
2) Click Edit
3) Choose Create a New Certificate in the "Choose the certificate that Salesforce.com uses when communicating with service providers:' drop down
Switch to Classic to perform these steps.
