Salesforce for iOS users not able to Close case (Edit Dependencies screen) after validation rule modal displayed Work ID
Last updated 2020-02-26 ·Reference W-7208163 ·Reported By 0 users
When using the Path Assistant card at the top of a case to select the CLOSED status, if a user misses a required field or fails a Validation Rule, the Salesforce App will not allow for the subjected fields to be edited. Essentially, the user will not be correctly presented with the Edit Dependency page.
The Engineering team has a planned fix for this behavior in Summer '20.
See below for workaround.
Within a Path-enabled org for Cases and a specific validation rule set for closing case i.e. a required case reason field
The user misses Required validation criteria during the Save process
Triggers the validation rule and user is presented with modal message at top of screen
The User then cannot edit/select the offending field in order to correct
User will need to change the Case to a different Status and then move through the Close process again, ensuring that ALL required fields are met in order to successfully pass Validation Rules.
