Lightning for Outlook: "An add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings" error appears when a record is loaded in Outlook

Summary
Customers who embed a Pardot component into the detail page of a Contact (or any other object) record may experience following error in the Lighting for Outlook app. when logged on Outlook desktop client like Outlook 2013 or 2016.

"An add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings in Internet options for potential conflicts.”

This error does not exhibit on Outlook Web Access (OWA). Note that although the error occurs, Lightning for Outlook may continue to function normally.

Repro
1. Add a Pardot component to a Contact page layout
2. Login to Lightning for Outlook in Outlook desktop client e.g. Outlook 2013 or 2016
3. Search for a Contact record and open it
4. Observe that the record detail page loads
5. Observe that the following Microsoft error appears in a yellow banner:

"An add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings in Internet options for potential conflicts.”

Workaround
Use Outlook Web Access (OWA).
