If Chatter data is not chosen to be included for a full sandbox or a partial sandbox copy is created and an organization has more than 30 users the Chatter profile images may appear as broken links in the new copy. This is due to the process that reverts them back to a generic profile image not running correctly during the sandbox copy process.
1. Refresh a full sandbox and choose not to include Chatter data or refresh a partial copy. The organization must have more than 30 users.
2. Log in to the resulting copy. The image next to your name will appear as a broken link.
1. Include Chatter data in your full copy.
or Manually update the image in the sandbox with the desired image.
or Log a case with support and the process to revert the images to a generic profile image can be run manually, reference this Known Issue when logging the case.
