Last updated 2017-05-09 ·Reference W-2877734 ·Reported By 57 users
The contact first name and last name fields are not appearing in junction object related lists when viewed through Lightning Experience. The fields are still visible within Classic view though.
1 - Login to any Winter release org as system admin.
2 - Create a custom object through Setup -> Create -> Object. Create a tab for this custom object.
3 - From the created custom object, create a master-detail relationship to the Account and Contact objects.
4 - Create a Contact record with FirstName, LastName and email.
5 - Create a record for the custom (junction) object and link it to the account and contact.
6 - Go to the Account Layout and add the Contact FirstName, LastName and Email field in the custom (junction object) Related List properties.
7 - Go to the account and check the related list in Classic view. Notice the Contact FirstName, Last Name and email are displayed alongside the custom (junction) object.
8 - Switch to Lightning view and load the account record. Notice the Contact FirstName, LastName are not displayed but Email is displayed.
You will need to switch over to the classic view to see these fields in the related list.
