Excel Table Colors/Borders Not Maintained in Rich Text Area when using WebKit Browsers
Last updated 13 days ago ·Reference W-2994118 ·Reported By 42 users
Since the Spring ’16 release, some users may find that it is no longer possible to copy/paste Excel tables into Rich Text Fields (RTF) and maintain colors and borders. Content can still be copied but colors and borders are stripped out.
1. Add a RichTextArea field to any object and add the field in the page layout.
2. Create an Excel file and add colors/border in one cell.
3. Copy the cell and (using the Chrome web browser) paste into the field created in step 1.
Color information should be retained.
Color information is stripped out.
Use Firefox, Internet Explorer, or another non-WebKit browser to do the paste work.
