Contact field reference in Case report Custom Summary Formula returns no data when Person Accounts is enabled

When referencing a Contact field in a Custom Summary Formula on a Case Report, no value is returned if Person Accounts is enabled.
This seems to occur in isolated scenarios but can be replicated as follows:
- Person Accounts must be enabled
- Create a Case Report
- Add a Custom Summary Formula and reference a specific Contact field
- The Custom Summary Formula will return no value as the Contact field reference does not work
The only workaround at this point is to add the field as a Report column and group by it using the standard Report grouping features.
