Custom error messages not displayed in Lightning Experience when uploading files

Server error messages (added via addError() for instance) are not displayed in various scenarios (e.g. file upload) in Lightning Experience. They are displayed as expected in Classic.

Default Record Type is not assigned when uploading content through Files or Chatter

When uploading Files using Chatter, users will notice that the "General" Record Type is assigned to the uploaded content. This will happen even if a custom Record Type has been assigned as the Default Record Type on that users Profile.

Uploading a text (.txt) file may intermittently fail to generate a content or file preview

Users may find that previews aren't being consistently generated for text (.txt) file types despite the files being under the size limit and other seemingly similar text files generating a preview successfully without an issue.

SOQL on ContentVersion returns results even if the site guest user does not have access to the record
