Idea is generally available.

SF should offer a Live Chat option that could be link to the customers website and/or estore.  The details of the customer and interaction could be recorded in SF, cases could be created directly from the chat session, etc.

    Hi Everyone - Just wanted to give an update on this idea. We heard your feedback and we delivered this feature in Spring '12, with a major upgrade in Summer '12.

    Live Agent is now available in the Service Cloud and can be used to add a web chat channel for customer service and support.
