Enable rollup summary field to add up formula fields

Custom Schema

It would be much easier if roll up summary field can work on formula fields, will eliminate use of some of the workflow rules. And make admin job much easier.

My team is planning to address multiple RSF issues in the next few releases and we are currently reviewing all ideas related to it. This idea has been created long time ago and might not describe the actual ask here.

As for today, formula fields are partially supported in RSFs. Few limitation I'm aware of are:
    • Cross-object formulas are not supported
    • Campaign member custom formula fields that reference fields derived from leads or contacts are not supported. (

I would appreciate more detailed use cases for this idea from the community!

Thanks fro your feedback and comments!
