Ever since salesforce redesigned the welcome email that a user gets when their salesforce id is first generated, I have had about a dozen users ask how they setup a password. They aren't sure what to do with this email. I think this is because the "Verify Account" link doesn't look like something that you should click on. It is not underlined in blue like a hyperlink, nor is it a button.
I would suggest these changes:
- Change the link to actually look like a hyperlink, or even better a button to make it stand out. If that is not possible due to email deliverability best practice, then actually have the words say something like "Click Here to Verify Your Account"
- Include something in the email explaining that they will be able to setup a password once they click the link. This confuses many new users as they often discard this email, thinking it's just a welcome email and then wait for an email with their password that of course never comes.
