Prospect Google Anlaytics UTM parameters segmentation

Analytics & Reporting

Following a Pardot Support query using dynamic list criteria for 'Prospect Google Analytics parameter' I discovered that this actually relates to the 'Visitors Google Analytics parameter'.  However, the terminology is not consistent or not clear what you are segmenting.

The support query I raised was in relation to using the criteria Prospect Google Analytics parameter > campaign > is not empty and it would find prospects who didn't have a value in the GA fields but did have a visit with a GA parameter and therefore met the criteria of having a Visitor Google Analytics parameter.

But on further testing today, I queried a particular campaign query Prospect Google Analytics parameter > campaign > contains > Test and it only found my test prospect whose first touch was a GA tracked link and had the GA fields complete i.e. it didn't find my other test prospect who already existed and had clicked on a GA tracked link (therefore was a visitor with GA parameters).

There are inconsistencies with these fields and how prospects are found in dynamic lists that need fixing as the UTM data cannot be understood correctly and used accurately as they are.
