Auto Populating Profile Records when Creating New Lead/Contact

Salesforce Inbox

When using Salesforce Inbox plug in for Gmail, I hover over an email contact and they come up in the inbox plug in. After I click on the users name, it brings me to a page with 3 tabs; profile, records, task.User-added image
When i go to the records tab to cread a new lead, the information does not populate over to the new contact fields.

Then when I have to manually type in all the information that was already populated in the Profile tab, I have to click back to view the information. Funny thing is, it doesn't save where I was in the contact creation.

Solution! Autopopulate and/or custom map the fields you are already pulling from the profile tab into the Record Creation! Feel like this should already be a thing...

Great news, when creating a new Lead or Contact, our desktop integrations will now auto-fill the First Name, Last Name, email address, and Account fields (if applicable). We'll also auto-populate subject and description when creating a Case or Task! This functionality is available to all desktop users in both the new Outlook integration (GA as of Winter '19) and Gmail integration (GA as of Spring '19). Winter '19 release notes for the Outlook integration and Spring '19 release notes for the Gmail integration detail the new integrations, and this help article for Gmail users shows you how to move to the new integration with Inbox.

As an additional note, we have removed the third party contact profile information in these new integrations, so any information that is auto-filled will be populated from the email recipient information directly. We will not auto-populate any information from third party sources that exist in the now-retired Contact profile.
