Resubscribe Button Should Override Pardot AND Salesforce Opt Out Field

Prospects & CRM Records

When someone unsubscribes via the Unsubscribe or Email Preferences Page, the Thank You content gives them the chance to resubscribe. This page can be sent out to prospects who have expressed an interest in resubscribing; however once the record is synced to Salesforce, clicking resubscribe cannot override Salesforce's value (Opted Out true) therefore the Pardot record eventually syncs and is changed back to Opted Out.

I understand the manual process of making the edit in both records for normally opting someone back in, but there should be an override on that field if it's the prospect who is specifically asking to be opted in.
