Edit single fields in Lightning Experience

Lightning Experience

In Classic mode, you could double-click on a field within an object's layout page to edit that particular field. Doing so would make only this field editable - the other fields on the page would remain as they were. This is not possible in Lightning - if you double-click a field to edit it, all fields on the page switch to being editable.

The reason the old behaviour is preferable is that it is, simply, faster. In Lightning, it takes a good few seconds longer for the field you double-clicked on to actually become editable, as all the other fields have to be changed to edit view as well and so the page takes longer to load.

It would be great to be able to edit just a single field to keep the editing process as fast as possible.
