Org-Wide Emails Addresses in Permission Sets

User Administration

I want to associate an Org-Wide Email Address to 1 user via a Permission Set so that user and only that user can utilize that Org-Wide email address? Additionally and kind of more importantly I'd like for that user to be a Partner Portal user.

Use Case:

I want to have a Partner Portal user interact with Cases and be allowed to send emails from the Partner Portal and have it look like it's from themselves but then have the response to that email come back into Salesforce as an Email associated with the Case. The Emails related list isn't exposed to Partner Portal users and from my perspective the only way to have an email associated with Cases is to send via an org-wide email address that is associated to an email2case routing rule.

Sorry - this fell below the line until someone was nice enough to remind me. I've reached out to the product owner who I believe owns this priority. But as of right now, I don't know what the status is of it.
