Collaborative Forecasting via Territory Hierarchy

Opportunities & Quotes

Currently, Territory Management 2.0 (Enterprise Territory Management) can be used with Collaborative Forecasting.  The only caveat is that forecast roll-ups will still be based off of the Role Hierarchy and not the Territory Hierarchy. (from https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewSolution?id=000204972)

When mutliple business units are managed in one instance, individual users (internal + partners) can sell for each business unit - something a Role Hierarchy based Forecast does not support. We are currently managing this via Record Types + Territories, to ensure the right Opportunities roll up to the appropriate Director for each business unit.

This means that we are forced to stick with Customizable Forecasting and Territory 1.0. There are challenges with both, but the solutions are to upgrade to the newer offerings.
I would love to use the newer tools, but first need options to the roll-ups to base off Territory Hierarchy instead of Role Hierarchy. Thanks!
