Most organizations using Communities/Portals have case dialog in Case Comments, but this presents a challenge if you want to use Case Feed. The trouble is that if you send an email and insert a comment for visibility in the community, you have duplicate feed entries. It would be great if developers could control whether or not a feed item is inserted for a particular action. Developers have no control over these feed entries. We attempted to use a trigger to delete the duplicate items, but FeedItem triggers do not run during the creation of these posts. We would like a DML option to prevent the automatic creation of Feed Items during DML operations. This would give us better control over what appears in the Feed for customers providing them with a history in the feed without extraneous data.
