Notes & Attachments on Accounts/Contacts in Customer Portal

Accounts & Contacts

It's currently not possible to add attachments to account or contact records in the customer portal. Another crazy limitation that we didn't find out about until AFTER we had implemented it. These limitations MUST be documented so we know prior to implementation what the limitations are, and ideally this inexplicable limitation should be removed entirely. Notes and attachments ARE available on custom objects, so why not standard objects?
