Customized Security Settings for Notes/Attachments

Sales Productivity (Notes/Activities/Calendar )

Make the Notes and Attachments customizable to help categorize, and in the event reporting becomes available for this, to be better reported on. Attachments and Notes should beable to have different security settings depending on possibly type or a Team User Role and/or defaulted to be privatized.

    Hi Everyone, I have an update from Product Management please see below:

    There are no plans to deliver this functionality for the existing Notes/Attachments. However, the Notes team and Files teams are working together to investigate what it would take to implement this functionality in the new notes and files experience.

    One piece of functionality being considered as part of this effort is adding a trigger on the ContentDocumentLink object which is associated/updated when the sharing rules on a File or New Note is changed. This will allow customers to write any custom rules they want to block or allow sharing changes on a New Note. This is targeted by end of year (safe harbor applies of course).

    I'll post new updates as we have more to share.
