SOQL LEFT() RIGHT() SUBSTR() operators
Apex & Visualforce,
Web Services API,
Large Enterprise Ideas,
I'd like to see string operators like LEFT, RIGHT, SUBSTR available in SOQL expressions.
Example: To find contacts matching a set of zip codes one could use the following SOQL statement:
SELECT id, name FROM Contact WHERE LEFT(postal_code, 5) in ('92024','92028')
This would enable search results to include Contacts with extended postal codes (e.g. 92024-1345)
