Workflow Rules for the User object

Process Builders & Workflow

Currently, the User object is not one of the choices when created workflow rules. The specific, immediate, workflow rule I was wanting to setup and disappointed to find that I could not, was sending an alert if an integration user that we have failed to login to the system at a scheduled time. Other uses would be the creation of tasks/email alerts/outbound messages for situations such as the creation of a new user, the deactivation of users, etc.

Hi Antonio - I undestand your frustration; however, many of the ideas that have gone unfulfilled are exactly because consistency, referential integrity, or performance with our multi-tenant database is more important than some features that we want to implement like this one.

Because the user object is heavily used in so many ways - authentication, authorization, collaboration, ownership, notifications, etc... maintaining our customer's trust with this important object is one of the most critical aspects of our platform.

That being said, if you saw Chuck Mortimore's platform keynote at dreamforce 12 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98CM6Jr9dWA&list=PLScnZWsj0lrS7fP8oIJKf0MOlTGBz9MvI&index=7&feature=plpp_videoabout 6:30 into the presentation), we are rexaming what it will take to enable workflow on users for provisioning and automation. Please be patient, we want this feature as much as you do. Thanks!
