Limit the Visibility of a Custom Button Based on Profile

User Administration

When creating a new custom button, we should be able to limit who can see it. For buttons on page layouts, this is not a problem because we can assign page layouts to profiles. However, for buttons on views, search results and tags we need to have this functionality. Without it we won't be able to fully leverage any of the custom button features in these locations.

    Although this idea was prioritized along other ideas related to conditional visibility for actions, the feature requires the capacity of the same Lightning team working on dynamic layouts for desktop and mobile. To allow that higher priority work to continue as planned, development work for the feature below will be delayed one development cycle.
