Partial Delivery in Winter '15
Idea was partially delivered. We post an update about anything that wasn't delivered.

When clicking on "Send an Email" and selecting an attachment to send, this attachment is not actually saved. We would like to have an admin option added allowing us to specify whether we would like these to be saved on the Activity History record, similar to attachments that are sent via an external email. This is pretty fundamental for our Support group, as a high percentage of our Cases include attachments as part of the correspondance with our customers. Thanks!

In Winter 15 all email attachments are saved when admins set up Outlook Configurations in Salesforce>Setup to "Side Panel" = enabled and "Add Email" = enabled. If they also pick "Allow users to select attachments" = enabled, Outlook users will be able to pick which attachments get into Salesforce when sending an email, using the Side Panel.

We are currently looking into saving attachments via the UI, but have no firm ETA for delivery at this time and will post again when we have more information.
