Charts over time should show datapoints when value is zero.

Operational Reporting

When creating graphs and charts of events over time, certain important data is not displayed. Specifically, if the event being tracked does not occur on a particular date, then the chart simply skips that date. Instead, there should be an option to include that date with a value of 0. In some cases, seeing 0 events for a date is important. It may even indicate success (like number of escalation events or lost opportunities). So, it is important to see the days when 0 happens reflected on the graph. Without this, the charts can be very misleading.

Hi Everyone- I have an update from our product team, please see below:

We recognize the value of this ask, but unfortunately displaying zero data points on charts is not planned for delivery.

It may seem like a simple request on the surface, but building this type of functionality on transactional system is a huge and complex effort. We are actively focusing our resources and efforts on delivering some of the top analytics Ideas including the ability to have more than 3 columns on dashboard (80k points) and nesting folders (59k points). If showing zero data points is critical for your org, there are a number of BI providers who offer this type of functionality.
