Add a slice() method to the List class.

Development (Apex / LWC / VF)

The slice() method should exactly as JavaScript's Array.slice() method. You provide the start index and end index and it returns an array consisting of the elements within that range. Due to batch size limitations for inserts, updates and deletions you should check each list's size before a DML operation. Currently, if the list is too large, you have to loop through the list and build smaller lists for the DML operation. If Array.slice() was implemented this would be much easier to accomplish.

    Update from our Product Team:
This idea is not on our immediate roadmap, however I would recommend looking at ApexLang, an open-source library which has capabilities of this sort.
