Send on behalf of, instead of looking like spoofed emails

Email & Email Templates

When sending emails from they look spoofed, which can cause some delivery issues getting the emails delivered. Use the "Sender:" SMTP header field to set as the sender of the emails, and send the emails on behalf of users. The header would look like this: -------------------------------- Return-path: Envelope To: Envelope From: From: Sender: Reply-to:

Lonnie, that is pretty harsh comments. First off, Salesforce is not adding that into the emails, that is purely an email client thing, which is specific to Microsoft Outlook. We follow the standards for sending emails, which says that when you are sending on behalf of someone (according to microsoft SenderID) you should set the Sender field in the header of the email. in this case we set it to sender:

The good news is that we allow you to turn this off, simply go to Setup | Administration Setup | Email Administration | Deliverability
under the email security compliance section, turn off the SenderID compliance checkbox, and now Outlook will not include the "Send on behalf of"
