Customize Columns on Step One of Merge Accounts

Accounts & Contacts

It would be helpful, on Step one, when you want to merge accounts to be able to add additional fields to help further identify what Accounts you want to merge. If I have 10 different Acme Inc. and I can only see the Site and Account Owner I may only need to merge 2 of the 10 but I have to guess which ones I need to merge because I can't see the billing address or phone number of the Accounts since those fields do not display on Step One. Just like you can customize a Look Up Page or a Search Layout page with different fields I would like to be able to have the customization option for the Merge Accounts page as well.

We're planning to deliver a new merge tool in Lightning for Spring '17 (safe harbor) that lets administrators use the Search Results layout for this. In this way, the columns on the record selection screen will surface the same Account fields you’d see when using Search. Administrators can customize these fields to match the needs of your organization.
