Allow existing picklist fields to use Global Picklists

Currenlty we have the option to use Global Picklist values when creating a new picklist field.
But we don't have any option to use Global Picklist's in existing picklist fields.

This should be there, and will help in getting rid of a lot of picklist fields duplicated.

    Hello everyone,

    I appreciate all of the feedback that you have been providing on this idea.

    In addition to the Merge App, in Summer '17 we will be releasing a new Picklist Promotion feature that will allow you to convert (promote) a single picklist field to a new global value set. Unlike the merge app, it doesn't create a new field and will preserve your field as-is (no need to update validation rules, page layouts, etc).

    We understand this is not a complete end-to-end solution. The picklist promotion feature and merge tool are intended to automate _some_ of the work of converting picklists. Some of you will still need to take manual steps. We have tried to be clear about the limitations and I apologize if they were not understood.

    At this time, we do not plan to deliver additional functionality for this idea and will mark it "partially delivered." Given the demand in the IdeaExchange community and all of your feedback, this was a difficult decision for us.
