Hello Alex,

I think you're right, the second component seems to be the one bugging out but if I remove it, I can't validate the challenge.

Hello karthikraja,

I used horizontal stacked bars to 100% for this report like below, might want to try this :

Hey everyone! Whenever I switch the component to a vertical graph bar I get the error message:

"The 'Case Drivers and SolarBot Ownership' component doesn't display case counts as a percentage of whole or doesn't arrange data as required."

And I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong at all, what do y'all think? Any tips?

Hi Alex,

I'm on the same challenge -7 and have been running into this issue "The 'Temperature and Kilowatt Hour Relationship' component doesn't display data in the correct format or doesn't show the temperature increasing." . Here is my Dashboard component for the same

Hi Alex,

This is the actual solution that I implemented before but that didn't work hence I changed it.
My current solution

However, it still fails with error The 'Temperature and Kilowatt Hour Relationship' component doesn't display data in the correct format or doesn't sort to show the temperature increasing.

Like Eric Huebner, I get the same error :
The 'Case Drivers and SolarBot Ownership' component doesn't display case counts as a percentage of whole or doesn't arrange data as required.

Anyone faced the same issue ?

@Eric : did you figure out what's wrong ? Maybe a silly setting in the source report (although we passed previous steps) could explain that ?
I have changed a lot of parameters (legend to right / bottom, sorting by Label / Value ascending / descending) and changed browser, refreshed dashboard after each change but something is wrong :-(

Hi Kumara,
I created a dedicated trail for that issue and figured out the reason (Display Units was set to Whole number). This little mistake generated a huge waste of time.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your answer !!!

Hi Saily,

I clear this error by recreate with following step.

  - Add Case Drivers and SolarBot Ownership Component
Use Top Case Drivers by SolarBot Ownership Report
Title name as Case Drivers and SolarBot Ownership
Use Stacked Vertical Bar, X-Axis (SolarBot Ownership) and Y-Axis (Record Count)
Stack to 100%, save done and refresh.

For last one, thanks KUMARA for column order and sorting.
  - Add Opportunity Overview Component
    Use SolarBot Loyalty Revenue Report
    Title name as Opportunity Overview
Add Column in order to Stage, Amount, Opportunity Name, Owner, Probability, Expected Revenue
Sort by Stage Ascending and Highlight to Amount with two Ranges

I just finished this step after having the exact same error as everyone else for at least an hour and a half before I figured it out, and now I feel compelled to share what I learned. I'm not going to share my full solution, because it isn't necessary in order to learn how to fix this problem (and probably all others going forward). Teach a man to fish and so on..

After an hour and a half of getting the same "unexpected error" message that everyone else is getting as well, I decided to delete the entire dashboard just to get back to square one and get a normal error message instead of the "unexpected error" message. So here are the steps going forward:

Delete error-ridden dashboard. Check challenge and ensure that you now have a normal error message saying that the dashboard can't be found.

Create dashboard, save, refresh (even though nothing is there yet), and then check the challenge again. The expected error now will be the name of the first component missing. If you get a message about the dashboard missing again, then you did something wrong setting up the dashboard (likely not in the correct folder) and need to fix that.

Create the first component and configure correctly. Check challenge and now the expected error should be the name of the 2nd component missing.  If the message is in regards to the first component again, then correct the configuration and check again.

Repeat these steps until you complete all of the components and when you have the 5th component correct it WILL complete.

Using this method you ensure that the system doesn't get overloaded with errors and spits out an "unexpected error" somewhere without telling you where. More importantly though, everytime you complete a step (a dashboard component in this case) and the error message moves on to the next step then you KNOW without a doubt that your previous component is perfect and doesn't need to be touched again. The system checks the steps in order, so this method is a sure-fire way to get through the challenges consistently without wondering where you went wrong.

For those more curious than others, this is how developers work - plan, iterate, evaluate, repeat.
"In iterative development, feature code is designed, developed and tested in repeated cycles."
https://searchsoftwarequality.techtarget.com/definition/iterative-development

I hope this helps someone out there and good luck with your next goals.

Really struggled with this one, flew through this Badge until i hit this challenge.

Like many i was bought here by an error code after taking Graeme's advice above and working through each step carefully i finally got past this step.

Sometimes if you are working with a component and keep getting different errors just delete the component and start it again from scratch.
