How do I limit the knowledge articles that show in the community search bar?

I created data category visibility groups and assigned one of the groups to a permission set. I logged in to my community with a user with the permission set, but when i type in the search bar, i'm able to view articles from a data category I have not included in the permission set (see underlined in image) Is there a way I can remove the articles from the search? Thanks!
