All Leads in Report weather they have activities or not

I have a report that starts with the Object Leads with Activities (I've also tried this with a cross filter). When I create this report it limits the Leads to only those with Closed or Open activities. I would like to make a report that includes all leads wheather they have activites or not, and displays the comments and status of activities if there are any.

Is there a way to do this?

You need to create a Custom Report Type.  In the custom report type you can specifiy Leads With or Without Activities.

If you want to see the Activity Details you'll need to create a new Custom Report Type

Documentation Create a Custom Report Type
https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=reports_defining_report_types.htm&type=5

Select Lead as the Primary object and then "with or without" related Activities

Hi Jeff,
For that you will need to create a custom report type with Leads as the Primary Object and Activities as the related secondar object
Navigate to Setup - Report Types and Click New Custom Report Type
Primary Object - Leads
Complete other required fields and click Next and select Activities under object relationships with relationship "A" records may or may not have related "B" records.
Save the report type
Now use this report type to create your report, this report will show All Leads with or without activities

PS.  Or you could create a Joined Report that uses the standard Report Type: Leads for one Report Block and the  the standard Report Type: Activities with Leads for the other Report Block

In my opinion, Joined reports are a last resort.  Like, the lastest of last resorts.  Salesforce is working on better report building, but it isn't out there just yet.

Wait....  Pattie Heintz

even worse than a Multi-Select Picklist?

or Quick-Create?

or using Hard Coded ID's in a Formula?

or giving a User Customize Application permission?

;-D

I guess I didn't think of those because I haven't had to use any of those as a last resort yet, haha.  Good news!  I haven't hit rock bottom if Joined Reports are my most feared issue.

If you haven't had to create a Multi-Select Picklist (and deal with the aftermath) then you are one blessed Admin
