Why the object opportunity can't be imported by using import wizard?

Hi,
I'm new in SalesForce and I starting implement the CRM for the company that I working.

I'm learning import and export, and I see that doesn't exist the import of opportunity by the import wizard, and I see too that I can import using dataloader.io.

The questions is: Why I cannot import opportunity by using the tool import wizard of the SF?

Best Regards
Rafael

Because Opportunities have a lot of business rules and database rules around what the required fields are, and what the valid choices are in those fields.  That is way beyond the UI feature set of the Data Import Wizard.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for the information.
One more thing, do you know if the SF will include this options someday?

No one knows what the SF roadmap is, but if they asked for my opinion, I would say to Not do it. There are too many things that could go wrong, which means they would need to build an entire error handling/correction UI on top of the Data Import Wizard, as well as fundamentally change the way it works (since it is a Bulk data processor which means there is no record-based UI / error handlng mechanism)

Hi Rafael,

If you are looking for an automated method to import Opportunities, Import2 offers a solution for this. You can find us on the AppExchange here: https://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N30000009vGZUEA2&tab=r.

All of the standard objects (Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Activitiy History, Notes, etc.) are included by default. You can see how it would look with your own data with a free sample import.

Thanks!
Ashley (Customer Success Manager at Import2)
