Formula that produces a percentage based off of opportunity record types

Hi!

I am wondering if it is possible to use the "Add Formula" option in reports to create the following:

I'm wanting to see the percentage of commercial vs residential projects (opportunities) we do. We utilize record types in our opportunities that give you the option to select commercial or residential. Is there a way to create the percent of commercial as well as the percent of residential in the formula field in reports?

Hi Bradely,
Lets say you have 10 Opportunities, 4 commercial and 6 residential projects, do you want to see 40% and 60% against the record types, assuming thats the case
Create a Summary report
Group the report by Record Type and
Create a custom summary field, give a name to your column, format: percent and the formula will be
RowCount/PARENTGROUPVAL(RowCount, GRAND_SUMMARY)

Please see the screenshot of my report, its a summary report grouped by Region field and in your case you will need to Group by Record Type

Can you post a screenshot of the Report, Report Type, and the Groupings, Settings, etc,  that you're currently using and the results you're getting, and create a mock-up of what you would like your Report results to look like?

For questions related to Reports and Dashboards those are really helpful
