Sandbox keeps switching to lightning

Every time I log into my full copy sandbox, it opens in lightning experience.  Which we are still years away from being able to implement.  I switch back to classic experience, but when I log in again, it's back to Lightning.  How can I stop this?

You can disable it by going to > Lightning Experience Migration Assistant > Setup users >  'Encourage Users to Stay in Lightning Experience

Hi Brian,

If you have a non-admin profile, I would suggest you to go to profiles and uncheck the "Lightning Experience User" checkbox. This way, you won't have access to Lightning Experience.

I am the system administrator and I need to use both.  But lightning rarely.  It was working fine last week when I had control of when to switch.

You can also enable in System Permissions  - “Remain in Salesforce Classic”. This will exempt you from the switcher.
