Not getting the right merge field in a template

I have an object called registration which has a lookup field to experience.. I need a field from the experience on the template..

I tried this

{!Registration__c.!Experience__c.To_Date__c}

Raquel Email Templates are on Object level.

when ever your are trying to send a email, it should be on that object rather you'll be not able to select its related records data.

So try this
{!Registration__c.Experience__r.To_Date__c}
if this doesnt work try
{!Experience__r.To_Date__c}

I had seen this, was hoping something had changed since I cannot create a new formula field.

Hi Raquel - if this is an email template, has to be a value on that object.

You should be able to use a cross-object formula field to pull the To_Date__c onto the Registration object.
