Finding and merging duplicates

I have been cleaning up my company's Salesforce and I've noticed a lot of contacts have the same name/same email and are connected to the same account. How do I find and merge these duplicates?

If you navigate to the contacts related list on an account record, you should see a Merge Contacts button (if you have access to do so).

Additional question.
Sam White vs Samuel White.   SWhite@companyEmail.xxx   The emails are identical, the spelling of the first name is different.   Would they never be identified as duplicates with first name difference of this type?
