Hi Nabeel,

Can you check if there is a permission set assigned to the user which is overriding access to the object? Please let us know.

Aren't permission sets only used to further give out more access? User has multiple permission sets, but none of them should be restricting this access. Only allowing more access.

Hi Nabeel,

If that profile does not have read access to the object in question, then the related list will not appear for a user with that profile. The behavior is similar to having a field on the page layout, but setting the field level security to not visible. Also, Can you check that the users have at least read access on the related object, also check that the related list is on the page layouts assigned to the user's profile. I know you said that you have checked this already! but I think the problem will be around page layout and CRUD access.

Thanks,
Nirdesh

Check the profile settings to make sure that everybody can see the object.
I would then check to see if theres a permission set that is allowing the users to see that object which this user is not apart of.
I would also check if theres any sharing rules/roles available which are making the user see no records.
And lastly, I would check the page layout and record types, to see if that user has access.
Also check the permission set has anything to do with the page layout!
last last thing- MAKE SURE they use the same profile haha!

Thanks a lot,

User is having the same profile as other? Also the user is different in role or part of public group? Look into page layout for related list items.

Hi Nirdesh,

The profile has read access and all the other users can see that object as a related list. I've also checked the page layout assigned has the related list. I do have a permission set that gives further access to this user (others have read-only, this user has read, create, edit and view)
Nabeel JafferyNabeel Jaffery

@Rohit, yes all the users have the same profile.

@Coby - Can you elaborate on how can a permission set affect the page layout? Isn't page layout specific to record types and profiles. ?

Check your organisation wide sharing rules, may be other users have a permission set that makes these user to see the related items and this user doesn't have.

The interesting thing is that this user can see the object in the sandbox. It has to be some weird checkbox somewhere.

@Rohit

OWD = Public Read Write for this object.

And this users can see two out of the three related list items for this object. Its the third one that is the new custom object that isn't visible to this user.

Hi Nabeel,

Can you do a quick test and give this user a URL of one of those related records and see if they can open it (at least you'll know if they have access to it. If not, can you check the sharing settings? If it is private on the object, has this user got a role assigned to them? If so, should they be able to see the records (are they the owner or above the owner in the role hierarchy)?
Can you assign one of the records to them and see if they now see the related list?
One last one, can they try to clear their cache and cookies, or try from a different computer?
Nabeel JafferyNabeel Jaffery

@Eric - Created a record for that object and assigned this user as the owner. They can access/edit and delete that and other records too. This user can access the object otherwise, just not as the related item of Campaigns.

The user had a role, but for now, I have removed the role. The user has access to the record, looks like the issue is related to page layout or record type. Also tried using different PCs, still the same.

I will be doing further tests as suggested in the thread and will post an update.

@Neeraj - You, sir, are a lifesaver. Solved the issue. The user had customised the page, and that object was missing. Thank you all. This community has been a great help as always! Thank you all for the responses and support.
