Winter 20 Lightning Flow Picklist is always required

When I add a picklist to a flow screen, it is always required.  Multi-select picklists present a field for Required, but picklists do not.  Is this an error or are picklists always required for entry in a flow?

This is a known behavior and not something newly introduced in Winter '20. Have a look at this idea

Thank you @Lokesh Kumar, with the new Visibility control in Winter '20 this is now a bigger issue.  If you have a picklist hidden based on criteria and try to move on you get an error that is hidden as well.  BIG PROBLEM with Flow when this happens.

@John - the hidden picklist throwing validation errors is a bug, we're looking at it now. We normally don't consider field requiredness as part of the validation for a page if the field is conditionally hidden.

Depending on how many items you have in your picklist, you may be able to use radio buttons instead and make the radio buttons required.
