Text based emails in lightning

In both lightning and classic on the feed screen in the console an email will reach its limit of characters very fast with less amounts of apparent string. This is because it is a rich text field you are using. This allows for pictures which eats up a lot of the character limit

In classic, however, you can go to the case detail screen and email related list and send a pure text based email. This is perceived as allowing a lot more of the email thread. 

In Lightning there is no way, that I have found, to send a pure text based email so that it seemingly holds more characters.

Has any solved for this or is it a fact if you use lightning this is how it is?

You can ask salesforce support to increase your character limit from 32000 to the Maximum 131,072 characters. I have done this for 2 clients so far and salesforce will give you this increase in a few days.

Go to https://help.salesforce.com/home and scroll down and hit button "Contact Support"

from the article you supplied it looks like this only affects custom fields. I needed it on the standard email body field
