I also need a report to show me the Accounts that i have without Contacts? I need to show this in a summary with a graph stating... With and without but i can't seem to bucket or show this and it seems like such an easy report!

Do you use the power of 1?

You add a formula field to the Contact object - output is number and the formula is 1='1'.

You could then add this field into your report and it would sum the contacts, and in theory show a 0 next to the accounts with none.

I think you could then bucket the power of 1 field so 1 or more equals with and 0 equal without.

I've just tested this in my org and it works. So firstly, make sure you are using a custom report type of Accounts with or without Contacts.

Create your power of 1 field on the contact object and ensure it is added as a field to your custom report.

Create your report and add a bucket field using the power of 1 field; less or equal to 0 is without and anything greater than 0 is with.

Let me know if you need any more help or screenshots?

Hi Ed,

Just to add to Christine's answer, you will also need a power of 1 field on Account object and summarize the report by the Power of 1 field from Account object, so that you will get the unique count of Accounts.
