Is there a way/ tool to export my salesforce data model to review data stucture and consistency? We are using a Windows environment.

It depends on what you want to do, there are a few options:

1. There are various "data model" tools in the AppExchange, check out the two below, they might be what you are looking for:

2. Check out the Explorer, its in beta at the moment but it allows you to print off your data model. There is a version for the mac that gives you a nice graphical view as well however I can't remember what it is called.

3. Use the Eclipse IDE to view your tables and field lists, etc. You can also grab the source XML pretty easily and then use something like Excel to import it into a spreadsheet so you can sort, filter, etc. on any fields.

4. Grab the WSDL (you may need Enterprise or Unlimited Edition for this) and do whatever you want with it!

You could use Safyr from Silwood Technology - it can reverse engineer any Force based system, then allow you to chosoe which Objects to include in a data model.   It can optionally expoprt to ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDersigner and others.   And it has comparison features where you want to comapre 2 different SFDC instances.
