Trouble with matrix reports in dashboards
For the most part when loaded into the dashboard, the report does not display any data, or sometimes it will load the chart but subtotal all the columns and just give me one value for each row. I need to be able to display multiple columns.
What is the easiest way to do this? Am I potentially loading the report into the dashboard incorrectly? Thanks.
Also, which browser are you using?
A few things to check off the bat are the Dashboard Running User, and the location of the Reports that are being used by the Dashboard, and the Running Users access to those Reports.
heres how the report looks. For each of the 'Activity Types' I'd like to see the totals for each of the previous four months, as it is displaying here. When I Import it into a dashboard it displays like this:
I want to be able to see each the subtotal from each month on the dashboard, not just the total record count for all the months together. When I import the report into the dashboard these are setting I'm using:
I had the same problem.
1) When you go to dashboard it requires you to ensure a chart has been created in the source report to enable selection of columns (up to 4)
2) Can you matrix report create charts at the source level?, if so, create the report first with the chart. Then relink your dashboard to that report and try again.
3) I changed my report structure from tabular to summary just so I could create a chart at the source level, and open options to select more than 2 columns on the dashboard.
I know someone suggested to check the box to add the chart from the source report, however, there is no way to add a matrix chart to the report itself to begin with. The options are the bar graphs, line graphs, Pie/doughnut/funnel and scatter charts. Sometimes there is an option to add just a regular chart but it does not allow you to add the summary data. It just lists data linearly and that isn't what we need to present.

Thanks for the screenshots. So are you trying to get the DB Table to look "exactly" like the Matrix Report? I'm afraid that's not possible. The best that you can do in a DB Table is 4 columns, and 2 of them have to be numeric values. It still might be possilble to take your 1 report and break it into 2 or 3 DB Tables or Charts that will give the user the full picture. Let me know if that would work for you if you want me to start plugging away at it.
