Record Types

I have a customised object and created 2 record types.

One record type has been set as default for a profile. How can I delete that record type as when I try to delete it, it always says one profile is using it as default?

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

in setup -> profile  just click on the profile not edit then you can see a section called "record type settings" and find the object that you associated with your customised record type, then you can remove the one, which you want deleted, from being set as default record type for that object of the profile. Once no profile of that object is using that record type as default, then you can deactive the record type in the object and delete it.

Hope this explains it...

@jzhang - so glad you got it sorted out.  Woud you mind coming back and letting the community know what you did to solve your problem.  They would greatly appreciate it if they run into the same issue in the future.  Thanks so much!!

Hi All...
Adding my question to this because this seems to be the relevant topic for this.
Please guide on what to do if the record type is being used as default by standard profiles like

how can we remove the default record type from these profiles?
