Why is my custom object not visible in advanced search?

I have a custom object that is a child of the Account object.

When I try and search for a record from that object, using it's name, I get no results returned

When I try and do an advanced search, the Object is not listed for selection

To have your custom object searched it must have its own tab and the tab cannot be 'hidden'.

Has the object been deployed or is it still in deployment?

Check as per Steve's suggestion.

If the object is deployed , click on the options and check the object whether it was listed there are not?

Check the object name and Try search now...

And are you logged in as an Admin? Could there be any permissions that are restricting your view to the object (if you're not logged in as an admin)?

Ah yeah, that's true if you're not using the new Global Search feature (and Chatter, they have to be enabled together). Didn't think about that, good call alexy!

We just had this happen and had to click the [Search All] button at the bottom of the Search Results screen in order for the records to display.
