How can I use multi picklist values in a formula?

Hi there,

Trying to create a custom full name formula type field that simply concatenates the many component custom and standard name fields together. The issue is that one of the component fields is a multi select picklist. I can't find any function that will allow me to concatenate any selected multi picklist values to the formula result.

So if Saluation field holds Mr; the First Name field holds Fred; the Middle Name holds John; the last name holds Smith and the Suffix field (multi picklist) holds both II and Jr I'd like the result of my formula to be Mr. Fred John Smith II Jr

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunatley, there is no current way to do what you are trying to do with a formula field. The information below is from the help and training on using Multi Select Pick Lists. If you need this functionality, I would suggest using a plain text field that is marked read-only on the page layout and a trigger that populates this text field with your values.

Multi-select picklist fields can only be used in the following functions:

    * INCLUDES
    * ISBLANK
    * ISNULL
    * ISCHANGED (Only in assignment rules, validation rules, workflow field updates, and workflow rules in which the trigger type is set to Every time a record is created or edited)
    * PRIORVALUE (Only in assignment rules, validation rules, workflow field updates, and workflow rules in which the trigger type is set to Every time a record is created or edited)
