Using Process Builder to Simulate Roll-up Summary

Hi all,

We have a custom object called "Phone Calls" with a look-up to Leads - I'd like to be able to simulate a Roll-up Summary field on the Lead record that totals up the number of calls. I'm aware that traditionally the Lead record doesn't support RUS fields without the use of a trigger.

It looks like its possible with Process Builder, however I can't get it to work. Any one got any dealings with Process Builder in this capacity?

Thank you!
Jessica

It's more flow that process builder work but here it is:

You can also install Declarative Lookup Rollup Summaries and handle it that way as well

Jessica, what's the relationship between the Lead object and the Phone Calls object? If it's a Master Detail, then a native Roll Up Summary can definitely be created on the Lead object.

However, if it's a plain lookup relationship between the two objects, then a native RUS can't be created and you have a couple of alternatives here:

1. Process Builder and Flow

2. Using a tool like Rollup Helper or Declarative Roll Up Summaries

3. Creating a report chart on lead page layout which shows the Number of calls related to the Lead. (not really a rollup but avoids the legwork)

Thank you Mayank and Geoffrey for the solutions as I am also looking for rollup summary solutions on objects without Master Detail Relationship.

Are the 3 tools you listed still the best options?
