This is not an "idea". This is a bug. Who uses modern browsers one tab at a time?
This problem describes a deeply flawed approach and poor implementation.
Crazy Idea: Allow a person to open separate tabs, one with OmniChannel Chat, another with different Salesforce session, and not disconnect the active chat(s). Very poor customer experience.
You cannot open or use another Salesforce tab within the same browser.
You can open a different browser application and log in again to Salesforce - naturally separate.
