We have the same issue Inna does. It's not that we want to send to multiple addresses, it's that prospects fill out forms, register for webinars, etc with different email addresses. If pardot could match to both a primary and secondary email field it would cut down on record duplication.

It would be a huge help for us to have this. We communicate with customers initially using their business addresses but sometimes they subscribe to our newsletters etc using personal ones. We need to be able to use their business email for one-on-one contacts but personal emails for marketing.

We also would like to see this feature added. Because we work with teenagers, we collect both the student and the parent's email address and when we send crucial information to our customers we need to be able to email both the primary email and secondary email address on file. As of right now this is not possible and becoming quite an issue.

As a nonprofit, we have a need for this functionality as well. We contact prospects in two difference capacities: personally (donations) and professionally (corporate sponsorships).
Per Salesforce best practice, we house contacts under houseshold accounts and affiliate them with organization accounts. Salesforce contacts can have multiple email addresses associated with their record, but Pardot prospects cannot. We need to be able to communicate with and track these prospects in two different capacities (personal and work email) in Pardot without creating duplicate records in Salesforce.

Multiple email address are the main cause of my getting old. This is a huge issue that I wish Pardot would address. We have a membership based business and when current members use a different email address than what is in SF pardot can't recognize them as a member and then add them as a new prospect. I dont' need the capability to email out to multiple email address but for pardot to be able to map to multiple email address and realize they are the same person would change my life.

Prospects use multiple emails nowadays depending on signing up for a newsletter or downloading content. Not being able to have multiple emails per contact creates duplicate records of the same person and skews how active they are. Being able to have multiple emails under one contact and the ability to still record all activity across all emails would be incredibly helpful in keeping data clean and to have an accurate picture of that contact. I would think there could be a functionality to choose which email would be the default to send emails to.

Hi @Adam Kintner as you wanted to hear more about use cases...
We do all these sends via Pardot. Some of our clients have multiple email addresses and would like their regular newsletter to go to one email address and invites to events be sent to another as they infrequently check the first one and on a daily basis the latter.

There are numerous cases where you would typically send an email to someone's work email for some content and their personal email for other content. For example, a new hire is already a member of your newsletter which is sent to their personal address but now they've been hired and internal broadcasts should go to their work email. Do you have to maintain two contact records for that person? Not if you are using customized Marketing Cloud. But otherwise, yes. Each persona also belongs to their own Account and there is no way to unify them. SFDO's HEDA package is close to fixing the linking problem, but not resolving multiple emails for the same Contact. Just like having two physical addresses on the Contact, we really need at least two emails on the contact, too (and more would be better).

For those using Lightning for Outlook + Enhanced Email, did you know that you can create an alternate email field on Lead/Contact and that will allow your users to attach emails once they have added the alternate email address?
Just add a custom field with type "email" - this is an acceptable workaround for most of the issues we were having. I suppose you could even add more than one alternate, but we're going to try just the one for now as it will cover most valid uses.
I still have concerns that the alternate email address won't be considered for Email-to-Case or Web-to-Lead and expect the system to create duplicate records that have to be merged, if we receive from two email addresses for the same person even if we have captured the correct alternate email address.
I also don't know whether marketing would have access to use the alternate email address via Pardot, but it's also unlikely that we would really need to do this.
