This hit us hard. We use sales teams, one co-ordinator or planner will be on the teams for several sales people. When the co-ordinator or planner hits 500, suddently no one on any team s/he's on can create a new opportunity or similar because of the exception thrown trying to add record 501 to the team-mate's chatter feed.
No matter what the limit is, that should not be the failure behavior.

Given the "assembly line" and often convoluted processes that follow lead generation I consider "chatter" notifications to be essential to allow transparency for commissions pay-out purposes. I am only working part time had exceeded the 500 "follows" allowed in approx. a year and a half.

Yes, please! I have logged a case, but this would be great to increase. It would also be nice if we could run a report on all of the records that are being followed. We can then determine what actions our users are taking to ensure they don't reach this limit again. It's difficult to have to go back and unfollow records or set criteria to unfollow using the App if you don't know why they followed it in the first place.
